Aaron’s sign
Aaron’s sign is an abdominal clinical sign performed to assess chronic appendicitis.
Aaron’s sign is named after an American gastroenterologist, Charles Dettie Aaron (1866-1951).
Technique for Aaron’s sign
You can assess Aaron’s sign by applying continuous firm pressure with fingertips (index, middle, and ring finger) on McBurney’s point.
If the patient has referred pain in the epigastric or precordial area means a positive Aaron sign.
A Positive Aaron’s sign suggests chronic appendicitis.
